We’ve always known self care was important, but now more than ever it’s important to take care of you. Showering has felt a little more luxurious lately as I put in extra effort to practice self care. In addition to my usual routine, I’ve added body scrubs twice a week to exfoliate. Below are my three favorites—all of which will leave your skin instantly soft and give you a lil bit of love during this time.
Lalicous Extraordinary Whipped Sugar Scrub
I discovered Lalicious’s Extraordinary Whipped Sugar Scrub through a subscription box a few years ago and it’s been go-to ever since. This scrub uses pure cane sugar crystals to exfoliate, and while other scrubs might feel rougher on you skin, this one is ultra-moisturizing with its almond- and coconut-oil-infused formula. My favorite part of this scrub is its warm vanilla scent is pure cotton-candy heaven with hints of citrus and rose. Its one of those products that smells good enough to eat. It comes in a range of scents, but I am obsessed with Sugar Kiss and haven’t tried the others yet. I love this so much, it was one of the gifts I gave to my bridesmaids.
Frank Body’s Original Coffee Scrub shines in its simplicity. Its antioxidant-packed formula blends together coffee grinds, cold-pressed almond oil and sea salt to slough away dead skin and leaves it feeling super soft. They say with continued use, scars, stretch marks and cellulite can also be reduced (though I haven’t noticed this quite yet!). If you love the smell of coffee, you’ll be in heaven, however, it is a bit messy in the shower, though I think it’s worth it.
I immediately fall in love with every Herbivore product I’ve tried so far, and their Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish is no exception. This luxe scrub contains crushed amethyst gemstones to exfoliate while virgin coconut oil intensely moisturizes. Magnesium-rich Epsom salt promotes calmness along with its subtle, jasmine fragrance, which I cannot get enough of. And honestly, what’s more decadent that exfoliating with crushed jewels?
