This is my review of the Pyle Portable Washer & Spin Dryer Mini Washing Machine.
If you live in NYC and have laundry in your apartment or building, consider yourself blessed. We don’t, and during the quarantine, our go-to laundry place closed along with many in our neighborhood. We found a delivery service, but we’re not using it as frequently and we needed a solution for everyday items (shirts, workout clothes, pillowcases, underwear, socks, etc.).
I found this portable washing machine and dryer on Amazon from the brand Pyle USA that seemed ideal. It’s about 2-feet tall and wide and a foot deep so it tucks away easily. It was simple to use right out of the box, just make sure you’re near a sink/shower. It fits about 7lbs of laundry, which actually is quite a lot, and the wash process takes about 10-15 minutes so you can get through multiple loads. You definitely need to be careful when draining the water out (we lifted it into the bathtub to drain), but overall, we are impressed. Here’s a video of the machine in action.
The dryer is smaller than the washer, so I ran the just-washed clothes in several rounds, but each spin cycle takes about 15 minutes for everything to be nearly dry. I hung my clothes up to fully dry overnight and in the morning they were perfect. I guess I could have run them through the dryer a few more times as well. Also, it is pretty loud, but that’s to be expected. Overall, I’m so happy I found this solution.
And lastly, The Laundress’s Le Labo Rose 31 laundry detergent has always been a favorite of mine and is definitely a luxury that brings a lot of joy to the wash process and beyond.
