My beauty routine has noticeably shifted over the past few months (anyone else?), and instead of applying a full face of makeup each day, I’ve put that extra effort into my skincare routine. However, as dewy as I strive to be, adding a bit of warmth makes me feel a bit more like myself these days.
Here are my at-home tanning essentials:
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops
Just mix a few drops into your usual moisturizer and be amazed as your tan gradually develops over the next few hours. I find that a little goes a long way, so start with just a drop or two and adjust to find the perfect application for your skin tone. Also, don’t forget to wash your hands and nails particularly well after application as this stuff will stain if you’re not careful.
Herbivore Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish
Before any at-home tanning sesh, exfoliation is key to make sure your tan is even and is as long lasting as possible. I wrote about my favorite body scrubs here, but I’ve been especially loving Herbivore’s Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish lately.
St. Tropez Double Sided Luxe Tan Applicator Mitt
When it comes to body self tanners, I truly believe it’s not worth even attempting without having an applicator mitt. They make that much of a difference in blending your tan to make it streak-free. I like this double-sided mitt that feels soft yet sturdy.
St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse
When it comes to the self tanner formulas, I’ve tried them all—endless lotions, mists, mousses, gels, gradual and instant—and mousses are consistently my favorite, as they are easy to control (especially with using a mitt) and absorb the most evenly into my skin. This one has a subtle color with a light scent that doesn’t transfer onto my sheets.
